​Although it’s easy to feel powerless in the face of overwhelming environmental issues, remember: it only takes one small push to down the longest line of dominoes. Even individual actions can result in widescale changes.
 
Recycling is one such action everyone can take to help protect our world. Not only does recycling help conserve natural resources by reducing the need for new raw materials, but it also helps conserve energy, reduce water use, reduce greenhouse gases, boost the economy, save wildlife habitats, and preserve biodiversity.
 
At this time, the Schoolcraft Conservation District is working hard to bring a recycling program to the city of Manistique and support recycling initiatives throughout Schoolcraft County.

Scrap Tire Collection
Each summer, the Conservation District holds a collection for used tires. Please keep an eye on our events page for more details about when and where this year’s collection will take place​.

Hiawatha Landfill
